Position Overview:
We are hiring a Lead Telecom Technician to oversee and execute low-voltage telecom projects, including voice/data cabling, device installation, and testing. You will serve as the on-site leader, guiding junior technicians, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and coaxial cables in commercial and industrial environments.
- Install racks, patch panels, jacks, and telecom hardware.
- Interpret blueprints, floor plans, and scope of work documents.
- Lead on-site crews and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Interface with project managers, clients, and site supervisors to ensure smooth execution.
- Document daily activities, materials used, and job progress.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in telecom or structured cabling projects.
- Experience leading small teams or serving as a senior tech on-site.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Fluke testers, tone generators, and cable certifiers.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Knowledge of BICSI standards.
- Basic knowledge of fiber optics or access control is a plus.
